The excitement is palpable as the Philadelphia Eagles’ season is about to kick off, and it’s time to gaze into the crystal ball and make some predictions for 2024. Spoiler alert: I’m feeling cautiously optimistic about this team.

1) Jalen Hurts is set for a comeback season

Following a stellar 2022 season, Hurts faced some struggles in 2023. The blame could be placed on the coaching staff and the offensive scheme, but Hurts also didn’t look like his usual self. However, in 2024, Hurts seems to have found his rhythm. A strong training camp performance, along with improved decision-making and execution, all point towards a promising year ahead.

His connection with receivers like A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith has flourished, and his running abilities seem to be back at their peak. While there might be some adjusting to Kellen Moore’s offense, Hurts appears poised for a bounce-back season.

2) Saquon Barkley brings an upgrade, but not a McCaffrey-level performance

The addition of Barkley to the Eagles’ offense has parallels to Christian McCaffrey’s impact on the 49ers. While Barkley will elevate the team, expecting McCaffrey-like numbers might be a stretch. However, he will provide a significant boost to the running game and add versatility to the offense.

Barkley’s presence will complement star receivers like A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, giving the Eagles a well-rounded attack. While he may not replicate McCaffrey’s stats, Barkley will certainly add value to the team.

3) Kellen Moore’s new offense will keep defenses guessing

With Moore at the helm, the Eagles’ offense is expected to be more unpredictable and dynamic. Moore’s track record of producing high-scoring offenses bodes well for Philadelphia, especially with the talent at his disposal.

The revamped offense under Moore’s guidance is set to challenge opposing defenses and create more scoring opportunities. With a talented roster, the Eagles’ offense is primed for an exciting season.

4) Vic Fangio’s defensive scheme will bring stability

Fangio’s arrival signals a new era for the Eagles’ defense. While his scheme may not revolutionize the league, Fangio’s expertise is expected to shore up the defense and provide a steady foundation.

The defense will benefit from Fangio’s experience, although it remains to be seen how his scheme adapts to modern offenses. Nevertheless, Fangio’s influence is likely to bring a sense of maturity to the defense.

5) Breakout performances from Jalen Carter and Nakobe Dean

Carter and Dean are poised for impactful seasons on defense. Carter’s potential as an interior disruptor and Dean’s growth as a linebacker promise to fortify the Eagles’ defense.

Both players have shown glimpses of their playmaking abilities during training camp, and their contributions will be vital to the team’s success. Expect Carter and Dean to make significant impacts on defense.

6) Newcomer Quinyon Mitchell will make an immediate impact

Mitchell’s emergence as a starter signals a bright future for the Eagles’ secondary. His combination of size, speed, and confidence make him a key player to watch this season.

With Mitchell’s talent and determination, he is primed to excel in his role and contribute significantly to the defense. Watch out for Mitchell’s breakout season.

7) Divisional success but no Super Bowl run

The Eagles are favored to win the NFC East, but a trip to the Super Bowl might be a stretch. While the team has the talent and momentum to dominate their division, the road to the championship is laden with tough competition.

The Eagles’ success in the divisional race is almost certain, but the Super Bowl might have to wait. With strong contenders in the conference, the Eagles will aim to build on their divisional triumph.

8) Nick Sirianni’s future hinges on divisional success

Sirianni faces pressure to deliver in 2024, but a divisional title should secure his position. With high expectations from fans and management, Sirianni’s fate rests on the team’s performance this season.

A successful campaign, including a divisional win, will keep Sirianni at the helm. As the season unfolds, all eyes will be on Sirianni and his ability to lead the Eagles to victory.

Stay tuned as the Eagles embark on an exciting journey in 2024. With a mix of seasoned veterans and promising newcomers, the team is poised to make its mark in the NFL.
