Students at Wissahickon High School were sent home early on Thursday after a bullet was discovered inside a classroom, causing concern among school officials and parents alike.
According to the school’s principal, Lynne Blair, students were kept in their classrooms while authorities investigated the situation. The classroom where the bullet was found was thoroughly searched, and every student present was questioned. Despite the alarming discovery, no weapons or additional bullets were found on any student.

While no direct connection was found between the bullet discovery and another student being in possession of a shell casing, the school took precautionary measures and decided to dismiss students early to allow police to search the entire premises.
Lower Gwynedd Police are actively investigating the incident, reassuring the community that there was no immediate danger to anyone at the school. As part of the investigation, police officers conducted home visits to gather more information.
Principal Blair emphasized that there are currently no specific threats targeting any individuals at the school, urging everyone to be cautious about spreading unverified information.
In response to the security concerns, extra law enforcement personnel will be stationed at Wissahickon High School on Friday and throughout the coming week. This heightened security presence follows a recent incident in South Jersey where several juveniles were arrested for making threats against multiple schools in the area.
