DoorDash Delivery Driver Shot While on the Job in East Mt. Airy
A tense situation unfolded on Monday evening in East Mt. Airy when a 29-year-old man was shot while trying to make a DoorDash delivery. The incident took place on the 1500 block of East Johnson Street, sparking panic in the area.
Authorities rushed to the scene after receiving reports of gunshots fired in a rear driveway. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim lying face down, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital and is currently in critical condition, as reported by NBC10.

The victim, who works as a DoorDash delivery driver, recounted the chilling events to law enforcement. He mentioned that after parking his vehicle, he spotted someone brandishing a firearm and attempted to flee. Unfortunately, he was shot and collapsed in the driveway.
Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small addressed the media, stating, “We don’t have a motive at this time. We don’t know if this was a robbery or an attempted carjacking; we’re not sure.” The investigation is currently ongoing.
Authorities disclosed that no details regarding the shooter or the weapon have been identified at this stage. However, they confirmed that the weapon used was semiautomatic. Multiple shell casings were recovered from the scene, providing crucial evidence for the case.
