The Philadelphia Eagles are off to a rocky start this season, with edge rusher Bryce Huff struggling to make an impact on the field. In the first two games, his stat line is less than impressive, with only 1 tackle and 0 sacks to his name. Even though some have credited him with a couple of pressures, a closer look at his performance on the All-22 tape reveals some concerning play.
We’ve dissected all of Huff’s snaps from a behind-the-endzone view, breaking them down into four videos for your analysis. Let’s take a closer look at how he’s been performing:
Snaps Analysis:
- 0:12 – Run play. Overpowered and on the ground.
- 0:28 – Pass play. Struggling and unable to make an impact.
- 1:00 – Pass play. Continuing to face challenges.
- 1:51 – Run play. Physically overmatched and unable to hold his own.
More Snaps:
- 0:14 – Run play. Falling short in performance.
- 0:48 – Pass play. Getting pushed around by the opposing tight end.
- 1:20 – Run play. Showing a lack of effort and hustle.
- 1:53 – Run play. Getting cleared out by the RG.
Ugly Performance:
- 0:12 – Run play. Easily washed out by the offense.
- 0:28 – Pass play. Blocked effortlessly by a tight end.
- 0:46 – Run play. Seemingly disengaged from play.
- 1:03 – Run play. Allowing himself to be blocked without resistance.
- 1:19 – Lackluster effort on a screen play.
- 1:38 – Showing a lack of interest and effectiveness.
Notably, most of the final video clips depict lackluster pass rushes on the crucial last drive of the game. It’s clear that the Eagles sorely miss a closer like Haason Reddick, who made impactful plays to seal victories during his time in Philly. Huff’s performance as a pass rusher and run defender was abysmal, and his lack of hustle in critical moments is concerning.
Final Verdict:
If Huff continues to play at this level, he’ll find himself riding the bench despite his hefty salary. The Eagles need much more from him to compete effectively in the league.
