As the deadline for NFL teams to cut down to 53 players approaches, the Philadelphia Eagles are making some tough decisions. Here are the latest updates on the roster moves:
• OL Max Scharping has been released, according to Aaron Wilson. Scharping, with 79 games under his belt, provided versatility on the offensive line during the preseason.
• WR Austin Watkins has also been cut, as reported by Andrew DiCecco. Despite showing flashes in camp, Watkins wasn’t able to secure a spot on the roster.
• WR Griffin Hebert, another casualty, showcased his skills with a 35-yard catch-and-run in the final preseason game. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to earn a spot on the team, as per DiCecco.
• DE Tarron Jackson, a former sixth-round pick, has been waived, according to DiCecco. After a promising rookie season, Jackson failed to impress in training camp this year.
Stay tuned for updates on the Eagles’ depth chart as more cuts are announced.
