Welcome to the halfway point of Philadelphia Eagles training camp! With 10 practices under our belt, it’s time to check in on which players are standing out and which ones are struggling.
As is tradition, I polled 22 members of the Eagles media who have been present at every practice to get their insights on the players making waves and those who are not performing up to par.
Stock up 📈
On the positive side, six players have received multiple votes for their outstanding performances:
📈 | Votes |
QB Jalen Hurts | 4 |
DT Moro Ojomo | 4 |
WR Johnny Wilson | 3 |
LB Zack Baun | 3 |
CB Quinyon Mitchell | 2 |
RB Kenny Gainwell | 2 |
Personally, I gave my vote to DeVonta Smith, who has been consistently impressive on the field. Smith’s standout performance in training camp signals a promising season ahead. Johnny Wilson also caught my eye as a strong contender for the WR3 spot, pending any additional roster moves.
Noteworthy mentions go to Jalen Hurts, who has shown great accuracy and poise, and a few other players who have earned recognition.
Stock down 📉
Conversely, four players have struggled and received multiple votes for their underwhelming performances:
📉 | Votes |
WR Ainias Smith | 9 |
LB Nakobe Dean | 5 |
WR Parris Campbell | 2 |
RG Tyler Steen | 2 |
Ainias Smith, though a rookie, has faced challenges in camp due to an injury that may impact his status. Nakobe Dean has displayed potential but struggled in pass coverage, affecting his role on the team. Parris Campbell’s fall from grace highlights the competitive nature of training camp.
Additionally, Matt Hennessy and Tyler Steen’s performances have raised concerns about their standing within the team.
Looking back at previous years’ stock ratings, we can draw parallels to the current season’s outlook. While some players may surprise us, others may fall short of expectations.
