Are you ready for some football?

The Philadelphia Eagles kicked off their 2024 preseason with an action-packed game against the Baltimore Ravens, securing a thrilling 16-13 victory in the final moments.

Despite a noticeable absence of key Eagles starters due to precautionary measures, the game did not lack excitement. Fans were eager to see Jalen Hurts and company in action, but the focus shifted to the battle between backup quarterbacks Kenny Pickett and Tanner McKee.

The Quarterback Duel: Kenny Pickett vs. Tanner McKee

Kenny Pickett showcased his skills on the field, leading the Eagles on a 75-yard scoring drive that culminated in a touchdown. While his mobility was evident, some inconsistencies in his passing game surfaced. Pickett’s performance earned him a respectable B- grade for the night.

Tanner McKee, on the other hand, displayed composure and accuracy throughout the game. His highlight was a pivotal scoring drive late in the game, ultimately securing a win for the Eagles. McKee’s strong showing earned him a solid B+ grade for the evening.

Standout Players and Moments

• Patrick Johnson’s game-saving strip sack highlighted the Eagles’ defense and sealed the victory in dramatic fashion.

• Marlon Tuipulotu’s solid performance showcased the Eagles’ impressive defensive tackle depth.

• Jeremiah Trotter Jr. displayed athleticism and aggression, making a memorable play in his Eagles debut.

• Jalyx Hunt, Tyrion Davis-Price, and Nolan Smith also made significant contributions, adding depth and competition to the roster.

• Kelee Ringo’s impressive coverage skills hinted at a promising season ahead for the Eagles secondary.

Overall, the Eagles’ preseason opener provided a glimpse into the team’s depth and potential for the upcoming season. Exciting plays and standout performances set the stage for an intriguing season ahead.
