As the NFL season progresses, injuries are starting to take their toll on fantasy football teams.
Week 2 saw a number of key players, including Christian McCaffrey, Jordan Love, Evan Engram, and Keenan Allen, sidelined due to injuries. And the list of injured players continues to grow as we head into Week 3.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the latest injury updates for fantasy stars owned by more than 80% of leagues:
Deebo Samuel, WR, 49ers
The 49ers will be without Deebo Samuel for a few weeks after he strained his calf in Week 2. This is a major blow to the Niners’ offense, already missing Christian McCaffrey.
More: 49ers WR Deebo Samuel strained his calf Sunday and is expected to miss a couple weeks, per HC Kyle Shanahan.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, Lions
Despite a soft tissue injury in his right leg, Amon-Ra St. Brown is expected to return to action in Week 3 for the Lions. Keep an eye on his practice status for updates.
Justin Jefferson, WR, Vikings
After a strong showing in Week 2, Justin Jefferson is dealing with a quad contusion. However, he is likely to practice and play in Week 3 for the Vikings.
Cooper Kupp, WR, Rams
Cooper Kupp may miss significant time due to an ankle injury, potentially landing on the IR. This opens up opportunities for Demarcus Robinson and Tyler Johnson on waivers.
Joe Mixon, RB, Texans
Mixon and Dameon Pierce suffered ankle injuries in Week 2, possibly sidelining them for Week 3. Fantasy managers should consider adding Cam Akers to their roster.
Isiah Pacheco, RB, Chiefs
Pacheco’s fibula injury will keep him out for 6-8 weeks, adding to the Chiefs’ running back woes. Fantasy managers should target Carson Steele and Samaje Perine on waivers.
Rachaad White, RB, Buccaneers
While Rachaad White is expected to play in Week 3 despite a minor groin injury, Bucky Irving could see increased touches in the backfield.
Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Dolphins
Tagovailoa’s concussion could sideline him for some time, with Skyler Thompson stepping in as the Dolphins’ starting QB. Fantasy managers should monitor updates on his availability.
