As the NFL looks ahead to the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles, where flag football will make its international debut, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been enlisted to help mark the sport’s arrival on the world stage.
The announcement video, posted on Monday, features shades of NFL Blitz as the fire pass is thrown into the iconic LA Coliseum torch.
Despite a challenging season for the Eagles last year, Hurts’ undeniable star power continues to shine. Not only is he a force on the field, but he is also actively involved in the growth of football off the field.
Over the past few years, the Eagles have heavily invested in girls’ flag football, establishing leagues and tournaments for Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The NovaCare Complex and Lincoln Financial Field have been opened up to these programs, with Hurts playing a significant role in their development and serving as a vocal advocate for women’s sports.
Now, as flag football gears up for its Olympic debut, Hurts is set to play a key role in introducing the sport to a global audience.
The 2028 Summer Olympics will feature both men’s and women’s flag football competitions, showcasing the high-energy and fast-paced nature of this exciting sport.
