Exciting news for Philadelphia Eagles fans! LeSean McCoy, the legendary running back, will be honored as the 2024 inductee into the Eagles’ Hall of Fame. This announcement was made by owner Jeffrey Lurie in a video played during halftime of the team’s preseason game at Lincoln Financial Field.
McCoy had an illustrious career, retiring in 2021 after 12 NFL seasons. He holds the title of the Eagles’ all-time rushing leader with an impressive 6,792 yards. In 2013, he was the league’s rushing champion with 1,607 yards, showcasing his exceptional talent on the field.
Despite a controversial trade to Buffalo after six successful seasons in Philadelphia, McCoy always held a special place in his heart for the Eagles and the city of Philadelphia. In fact, when he decided to retire, McCoy chose to sign a one-day contract with the Eagles.
The Eagles will commemorate McCoy’s legacy with an induction ceremony during halftime of their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on November 3. It will be a fitting tribute to one of the franchise’s greatest players.
