Are you gearing up for your fantasy football draft or planning your lineup for Week 1? It’s always a dilemma when you see that dreaded red injury designation next to a player you have your eye on. Do you take a risk or play it safe?
Here’s a quick look at the latest injury news for some of the biggest fantasy football stars on the road to recovery:
Christian McCaffrey, RB, 49ers
The consensus No. 1 pick in many drafts, McCaffrey is dealing with a calf injury. While the Niners are optimistic he will play, soft tissue injuries can be tricky. He may see limited snaps or play at less than 100%, but he’s still worth a high pick.
Tyreek Hill, WR, Dolphins
Hill is nursing a minor thumb injury but should be good to go for Week 1.
Puka Nacua, WR, Rams
Nacua has been dealing with a knee issue but is expected to be ready for the start of the season.
Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Lions
Gibbs has returned to practice after a hamstring injury and is expected to be fully healthy for Week 1.
Sam LaPorta, TE, Lions
Another Lions player, LaPorta, has recovered from a hamstring injury and should be ready for the season opener.
Jaylen Waddle, WR, Dolphins
Waddle has been sidelined with an undisclosed injury in Miami, but more details are expected soon.
Mark Andrews, TE, Ravens
Andrews was in a car accident but escaped injury and is back on the field.
Keenan Allen, WR, Bears
Allen is dealing with a foot injury but is expected to return to practice soon.
Christian Kirk, WR, Jaguars
Kirk has been recovering from a calf injury but looks on track for Week 1.
Jaylen Warren, RB, Steelers
Warren’s hamstring injury may open the door for Najee Harris, but he is expected to be ready for the season opener.
