Now that training camp practices are officially over, the excitement for the upcoming season is reaching its peak. With just one more preseason game left before the real games kick off in Brazil, there’s a sense of anticipation among Eagles fans and across the league. As teams wrap up camp and prepare for the regular season, preseason rankings and assessments are starting to flood in. Here’s a closer look at how the Eagles are shaping up as the season approaches.

## A Mystery Coaching Staff
One of the biggest storylines surrounding the Eagles this year is the mystery surrounding their coaching staff. Head coach Nick Sirianni survived last year’s challenges but made significant changes by bringing in Vic Fangio on defense and Kellen Moore on offense. There have been reports of disconnect between Sirianni and quarterback Jalen Hurts, adding another layer of intrigue to the coaching dynamic. ESPN’s Ben Solak recently ranked all 32 NFL coaching staffs, placing the Eagles at 15th. Solak highlighted the improvements brought by Fangio and Moore but raised questions about Sirianni’s influence on the team’s success. Despite the uncertainties, the first-team offense and defense showed promising signs of creativity during camp, providing hope for a stronger season ahead.

## A Mystery Defense
The Eagles’ defense is another area of uncertainty heading into the season. Sheil Kapadia of The Ringer ranked the Eagles’ defense at 14th in the league. While Howie Roseman made several moves to bolster the defensive roster, including signing key players and drafting talented rookies, Kapadia expressed doubts about Fangio’s ability to lead the unit effectively. The success of the defense will depend on young players stepping up and Fangio showcasing his coaching prowess. With a mix of potential and unpredictability, the Eagles’ defense has the opportunity to exceed expectations if everything falls into place.

## How Much Longer for Lane Johnson?
As the Eagles’ veteran players retire or near the end of their careers, right tackle Lane Johnson faces questions about his own future. At 34 years old, Johnson believes he has a few more seasons left in him but acknowledges the inevitability of retirement. Mentally prepared for the transition, Johnson values his time with the team and the bond he shares with his teammates. As a key figure in the Eagles’ success over the years, Johnson’s eventual departure will mark the end of an era for the team.

As the Eagles gear up for the start of the season, the excitement and uncertainty surrounding the team create an air of anticipation for what lies ahead. With a new-look coaching staff, a revamped defense, and veteran leaders like Lane Johnson guiding the way, the Eagles are poised for an intriguing season ahead. Stay tuned for more updates and analysis as the season kicks off in Brazil.
