The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly after 12:30 a.m. While her identity has not been disclosed, authorities believe she was an unintended target in the shooting, caught in the crossfire while trying to defuse the situation.
Officer D.F. Pace shared with 6ABC, stating, “It appears the person who was struck by gunfire was an unintended target who was attempting to either mediate or break up the fight between the shooter and another person, who it looks like the shooter was attempting to fire at.”
As the investigation unfolds, the perpetrator remains at large, prompting a search for additional surveillance footage to aid in their identification. Fortunately, officials assure the public that there is no immediate threat to safety, as reported by CBS3.
In an effort to combat crime, businesses in Kensington have implemented an 11 p.m. curfew, although establishments with liquor licenses are permitted to operate until 2 a.m.
