Exciting news out of New Jersey as Joseph Salerno emerged victorious in the Democratic primary for the state’s 2nd Congressional District. The Lower Township attorney clinched the win in a closely contested race and now sets his sights on challenging Republican incumbent Jeff Van Drew in the upcoming general election in November.

Despite initial polls labeling him as a political newcomer in South Jersey, Salerno’s hard work and dedication paid off as he secured a lead of 232 votes with 96% of the votes counted. His strong support in Cape May and Gloucester counties helped propel him to victory. Salerno’s triumph is a testament to his ability to connect with voters and build momentum throughout his campaign.

The 2nd District encompasses Atlantic, Cape May, Salem, and Cumberland counties, as well as parts of Gloucester and Ocean counties. Salerno’s platform focuses on key issues such as ensuring the sustainability of Social Security and Medicare, protecting abortion rights, and advocating for job creation and investment in South Jersey.

The road to victory was not without its challenges, as a dispute over mistakenly opened mail-in ballots added suspense to the race. However, Salerno remained steadfast in his determination to represent the people of the 2nd District and bring about positive change in Washington.

With Van Drew’s party switch and controversial history, Salerno sees an opportunity to offer a fresh perspective and bipartisan solutions to the district. His dedication to serving the community and addressing crucial issues sets him apart as a promising candidate for the general election.

As the race heats up heading into November, all eyes will be on Joseph Salerno as he continues to build momentum and rally support in his quest to unseat the incumbent and become a voice for the people of New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District.
