Devin White
White, the fifth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, had a standout 2020 season, racking up 140 tackles, 9 sacks, and 16 QB hits. Known for his speed and playmaking ability, White has made a name for himself as a blitzer with 23 career sacks. Despite some concerns about his awareness, he is primed to be a key player alongside Vic Fangio’s defense.
Zack Baun
Baun, a third-round pick by the Saints in 2020, showcased his potential as both an edge rusher and off-ball linebacker. His impressive performance in limited action in 2023 makes him a player to watch during training camp, especially after lining up as a first-team off-ball linebacker in spring practices.
Nakobe Dean
After injuries limited his rookie season, Dean aims to make an impact as the Eagles’ top linebacker. With solid run defense but room for improvement in coverage, Dean’s progress during training camp will be a key storyline for the team.
Oren Burks
Burks, a seasoned player with experience in Green Bay and San Francisco, brings versatility and coverage skills to the Eagles’ linebacker group. His ability to limit opposing quarterbacks in 2023 makes him a valuable asset on defense.
Jeremiah Trotter, Jr.
Despite being a late-round pick, Trotter’s college success and football IQ make him an intriguing prospect for the Eagles. With a similar profile to Dean, Trotter’s development and impact in camp will be closely monitored by the coaching staff.
Ben VanSumeren
VanSumeren’s athleticism and special teams contributions earned him a spot on the roster in 2023. As he continues to develop as a linebacker, his ability to secure a spot on the final roster will be a storyline to follow during camp.
Brandon Smith
Smith, a talented athlete, faces competition for a roster spot after primarily contributing on special teams. With limited defensive snaps in 2023, Smith’s performance in camp will determine his future with the team.
