Get ready for the highly-anticipated showdown between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump! The first presidential debate is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 10 at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, as announced by ABC News on Friday.

Starting at 9 p.m., the debate will be moderated by “World News Tonight” anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis. You can catch all the action live on ABC, ABC News Live, Disney, and Hulu.

After weeks of negotiations, the Harris and Trump campaigns have finally agreed on the date and broadcaster for the debate. Initially, there were conflicting opinions on when and where the debate should take place, but it has been confirmed that the event will happen on ABC News.

President Biden’s withdrawal from the race paved the way for this debate to be organized. Trump insisted on an earlier date, but the Harris campaign held firm, and the Sept. 10 date was ultimately settled upon. While another debate has been agreed upon for October, the details are still being worked out.

The National Constitution Center, situated within Independence National Historical Park, will serve as the venue for this historic debate. Just like Biden’s town hall event in 2020, which was also hosted by ABC News at the same location, this debate is expected to draw a lot of attention.

Stay tuned for more updates as the presidential race heats up. Don’t forget to mark your calendar for the vice presidential debate between JD Vance and Tim Walz in New York City on Oct. 1, broadcasted by CBS News and moderated by Norah O’Donnell and Margaret Brennan.
