One of the most outspoken and controversial supporters of former President Donald Trump in Congress is gearing up to headline a pair of Pennsylvania GOP events in the upcoming weeks.
U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) is set to be the special guest for the Republican National Committee’s “election integrity virtual training” scheduled for Sunday.

“The PA RNC Poll Watcher Training provides a comprehensive overview of Pennsylvania’s electoral process, as well as guidance on how Poll Watchers can play an important role in upholding election integrity. You will learn how to observe and report any potential problems that may arise during the voting and tabulation process,” according to a Zoom link promoting the event. The event is closed to the press, as indicated on the same link.
Punchbowl News first reported on Friday that the training session would be held in conjunction with the Lehigh County Republican Committee. The Pennsylvania GOP and Pennsylvania Democratic parties did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Friday.
After Trump’s defeat to Joe Biden in the 2020 election, Greene falsely alleged that the election was stolen. She also opposed certifying the election results and has been a staunch supporter of Trump’s reelection campaign while frequently criticizing Democrats, especially those on the progressive side of the party.
Apart from this Sunday event, Republicans have organized previous events in Pennsylvania focused on recruiting poll watchers. In June, RNC Chairman Michael Whatley, RNC Co-Chair Lara Trump, former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, and U.S. Rep. Dan Meuser (R-9th District) hosted the second stop of a “protect the vote tour” in Bucks County. The training portion of that event was also closed to the press.
The RNC’s nationwide initiative aims to recruit 100,000 poll watchers, poll workers, and legal experts for the 2024 election, with a target of at least 5,000 volunteers in Pennsylvania alone.
On September 3, Greene is slated to be the keynote speaker at the Washington County Republican Party’s Fall dinner. The party mentioned on Facebook that she would speak her mind without filters at the event.
Ticket packages for the dinner range from the $5,000 Donald package to the $100 dinner and dessert ticket.
While Greene has emerged as a prominent conservative voice in Congress, she has also caused rifts within the Republican Party and was removed from the conservative House Freedom Caucus in 2023. In a prior congressional session, she lost her committee assignments following votes from Democrats and some Republicans to remove her.
Both Pennsylvania events are happening in different regions of the state, each offering insight into the diverse electorate in the Keystone State. Lehigh County, located in the Lehigh Valley north of Philadelphia, backed Biden by just under 8 points over Trump in 2020. Meanwhile, Washington County in the southwestern part of the state favored Trump by 22 points over Biden in the same election.
