Believe it or not, Jalen Hurts is finally opening up about his improved health and performance in a refreshing change from his usual evasiveness. The Eagles’ quarterback admitted after the final practice of training camp that he feels physically better than he did last season.

“Yeah, I think I’m in a better place physically,” Hurts revealed, hinting at past injuries but flashing a sly smile as he addressed the media. “I think all of those things have made me better.”

While he still maintains some Sabanisms, there’s a noticeable shift in Hurts’ demeanor. This change is evident on the field, where he appears more mobile, decisive, and accurate in his passing. His teammates, including linebacker Devin White, have taken notice of his improved comfort and athleticism, eagerly anticipating a stellar season ahead.

The Eagles are banking on this newfound confidence to propel Hurts back to his MVP-caliber form from two seasons ago, if not better. His strong showing in camp, culminating in a late interception and a subsequent touchdown pass, instills hope for a successful Week 1 and beyond.

Heading into his fifth NFL season and fourth as the Eagles’ starting QB, Hurts has been impressive in camp, showcasing his connection with key receivers and adaptability in a revamped offensive system. The addition of offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has brought a renewed focus on the process and continuous improvement throughout each practice.

As camp wrapped up, veteran cornerback Darius Slay finally ended Hurts’ interception-free streak with a well-timed pick. Despite the setback, Hurts quickly rebounded and closed out practice on a high note with a touchdown pass to DeVonta Smith.
