As the trade deadline passed and the MLB draft brought in new talent, the Phillies’ farm system saw some major changes among their top prospects. While impactful prospects weren’t moved, the rankings have shifted, with new names entering the spotlight.

Players like Griff McGarry, Christian McGowan, and Carlos De La Cruz have dropped out of the top rankings, making way for a wave of fresh talent, including 2024 first-round pick Dante Nori and other promising youngsters.

So, how are these emerging stars faring in the farm system right now? Let’s take a closer look:

Who’s Hot

1. Aidan Miller, SS/3B

At just 20 years old, Miller has risen to the top of the Phillies’ prospect list. He’s been on fire in Single-A, hitting in eight consecutive games with 13 total hits and 14 RBI. This middle infielder is showing potential to challenge Bryson Stott for a spot once he reaches Reading.

3. Justin Crawford, OF

Crawford, a recent first-round pick, is impressing in Double-A Reading. He boasts a .346 average over his last 10 games and a strong .304 season average with 38 stolen bases to his name.

5. Eduardo Tait, C

Tait, just 18 years old, has quickly climbed the ranks to become an exciting prospect. He’s hitting .305 in his last 10 games and consistently getting on base.

9. Devin Saltiban, SS/2B

Saltiban, a third-round pick, has found his stride after a slow start, hitting .300 with three homers and 12 RBI in his last 10 games. His power potential is catching attention.

12. John Spikerman, OF

This new addition to the list is on a hot streak, hitting .316 in his last 10 games. The 21-year-old is making his mark in Clearwater.

15. Seth Johnson, SP

Johnson, the lone pitcher in the top 15, is delivering strong performances in Lehigh Valley, allowing just one run in his first two starts after a promotion. Acquired in a trade with the Orioles, Johnson is proving his worth on the mound.

Who’s Not

4. Starlyn Caba, SS

Caba is struggling with a .169 average since his promotion to Clearwater, but the young player has time to grow and improve.

6. Mick Abel, SP

Once a highly touted prospect, Abel hasn’t found his groove in Triple-A, posting a 5.88 ERA over 20 starts. His performance is raising questions about his future role.

7. Dante Nori, OF

Nori, the recent first-round pick, is adjusting to the pro level in Clearwater with a .216 average in his first nine starts.

10. Bryan Rincon, SS

Rincon is back from injury and working to regain his form, currently with one hit in three games. The 20-year-old has time to showcase his potential.

11. Gabriel Rincones Jr., OF

Rincones, recovering from injury, is struggling with a .209 average in his last 10 games. The 23-year-old outfielder is looking to bounce back.

13. Jean Cabrera, SP

Cabrera has hit a rough patch, allowing multiple runs in recent starts, though his overall season ERA is holding steady at 3.80.

Who’s Hurt (or Not Playing)

2. Andrew Painter, SP

Painter is recovering from Tommy John surgery and aiming to return next spring fully healthy and ready to make an impact.

8. Griffin Burkholder, OF

Burkholder, the second-round pick, is currently sidelined with an injury shortly after making his professional debut.

14. Aroon Escobar, 2B/3B

Escobar was hitting well before an injury ended his season prematurely. The promising 19-year-old will look to bounce back stronger next season.
