As the 2024 NFL season approaches, all eyes are on the Philadelphia Eagles, who are considered the NFC East favorites by experts in Las Vegas and around the world setting odds for sportsbooks. While the books usually have a good track record, the Eagles have a lot of uncertainties heading into the new season.

With new coordinators and schemes, as well as new additions like Saquon Barkley and Bryce Huff, and rookies expected to make an impact such as Quinyon Mitchell, the Eagles have a lot to prove this year.

So, what do the experts across the NFL media landscape predict for the Eagles? Will they claim the division title? Make it to the Super Bowl? Let’s take a look at some snippets from various predictions:

NFC East winners — ESPN

ESPN’s simulation had the Eagles winning the NFC East but getting eliminated in a surprising upset in the first round of the playoffs. The Eagles ended the regular season on a high note with a five-game winning streak, securing the division title.

The Eagles clinched the NFC East title in a crucial Week 17 win against the Cowboys, but couldn’t carry that momentum to the postseason, where they were ousted by the Bears in an unexpected upset.

Another ESPN prediction article states that the Eagles have a 79.4% chance of making the postseason, with a projected 10.5 wins.

NFC East winners — NFL.com

NFL.com’s writers heavily favor the Eagles to win the NFC East, with 24 out of 28 picks in favor of Philadelphia. The Eagles are predicted to secure a playoff spot, while the Cowboys are slated to be the fifth seed.

NFC East winners — SI.com

Connor Orr at Sports Illustrated projects the Eagles to win the NFC East with 10 wins, edging out the Cowboys who are predicted to win nine games. His reasoning centers around the Eagles’ strength compared to Dallas and their favorable schedule.

NFC Wildcard — CBS

CBS’s John Breech goes against the grain, forecasting the Cowboys to repeat as division champions. However, he acknowledges that the Eagles are favored to win the NFC East, though he sees them clinching the final wildcard spot in the conference.

12-game winners — The Athletic

The Athletic’s Brooks Kubena remains bullish on the Eagles, predicting them to win 12 games and claim the division title. He highlights Jalen Hurts’ improved performance as a key factor in the Eagles’ success this season.

11-game winners — 33rd team

Dan Pizzuta from The 33rd Team expects the Eagles to surpass their projected 10.5 wins, citing Jalen Hurts’ strong play and the team’s offensive potential as reasons for optimism.

Contenders (mostly) — USA Today

USA Today’s writers have mixed predictions for the Eagles, with some forecasting a division win, others a wildcard spot, and a few expecting the team to miss the playoffs. Tyler Dragon stands out by picking the Eagles to win the NFC East and make a deep playoff run.

A hot take — Fox Sports

Chris Brussard believes in the Eagles’ ability to win the NFC East, while Nick Wright paints a bleaker picture, projecting the team to finish third in the division and miss the playoffs.
