Welcome to Six Flags: New Chaperone Policy
Exciting news from Six Flags! Starting this week, guests ages 15 and under will need to be accompanied by chaperones who are at least 21 years old. This new policy will be in effect daily at all Six Flags amusement parks after 5 p.m. for the remainder of the season, and may even be enforced earlier on some days.
At the iconic Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, chaperones will be required at the park in Jackson Township starting Saturday, Sept. 7. This decision was made in response to a recent rise in disorderly conduct among young guests. Safety and enjoyment for all visitors is a top priority for Six Flags.

Six Flags stated, “In response to the increasing incidents of unruly and inappropriate behavior across our industry and at other major entertainment venues, we are taking proactive steps to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.” This new policy aims to create a better experience for all guests.
Chaperones must bring a valid government-issued ID to the park entrance and can supervise groups of up to 10 juveniles per visit. They are required to stay in the park and remain reachable by phone throughout the visit. Additionally, guests who are 16 and older may be asked to show ID for age verification.
For those under 15 without a chaperone, entry may be denied. The announcement of this policy comes just ahead of Six Flags’ fall schedule, which includes Halloween-themed events like Fright Fest Extreme attractions.
This initiative follows similar policies at other amusement parks in the region. For example, last summer, Allentown’s Dorney Park implemented a chaperone rule for guests under 16 to address previous incidents.
Six Flags believes that these updates will help maintain a positive atmosphere at Six Flags Great Adventure. Visit the Six Flags website for more details on the new policy and get ready for a thrilling experience at the park!
