Get ready to rock out with the legendary post-rock band Explosions in the Sky on Spotify because it’s time for some “Friday Night Lights” action with the Eagles in Brazil. In a historic move, the NFL will kick off Week 1 with a Friday game as the Eagles take on the Green Bay Packers at Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, drawing in fans from around the world.

The buzz surrounding this trip to South America has been palpable, from the Eagles sacrificing a home game for this unique event to the challenges of traveling for a Week 1 matchup. Despite the hype, head coach Nick Sirianni is embracing the old-school charm of Friday Night Football amidst the excitement of the NFL’s global expansion.

“The words that came out of my mouth today were, ‘We have to be ready for Friday night.’ It’s an incredible feeling to say that we have a game on Friday night, and it gives me chills just thinking about it,” Sirianni expressed before the Eagles’ final practice at the NovaCare complex before their journey to Brazil.

Sirianni’s deep-rooted love for Friday Night Football stems from his childhood, where he admired local high school heroes like John Briggs, his brother Jay Sirianni, and others. His heartfelt sentiment resonates with the essence of the game that is now being shared globally with the Eagles and Packers facing off.

The Eagles have a history of playing on unconventional game days. From the infamous “Joe Webb Game” delayed by snow in 2010 to more recent Tuesday matchups, the Birds have shown resilience regardless of the day of the week. As they gear up for their Friday night showdown in Brazil, let’s look at the Eagles’ all-time records by days:

Day Record
Monday 42-32
Tuesday 3-3
Wednesday 3-2
Thursday 19-7
Friday 0-0
