Freddie Trone, the man convicted of orchestrating an armed robbery that tragically took the life of Philadelphia rapper PnB Rock, has been sentenced to 31 years in prison. This devastating incident occurred at a California Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles on Sept. 12, 2022, where Trone directed his then-17-year-old son to carry out the robbery, resulting in the fatal shooting of the musician.

MORE: Bam Margera ordered to remain in jail for a drug and alcohol assessment following a DUI charge, according to the judge.

PnB Rock, born Rakim Allen, was widely recognized for hits like “Selfish” and collaborations with artists such as Meek Mill on the track “Dangerous” in 2018.

Despite the verdict, Winston McKesson, Trone’s attorney, has announced plans to file an appeal, as the judge has yet to disclose the specific reasons for considering Trone a significant participant in the crime.

Trone’s son, now 19, has faced murder charges and remains in the custody of the juvenile system, unable to undergo trial. Another individual involved, Tremont Jones, was sentenced to 12 years for various robbery charges related to the incident.

During the sentencing, Allen’s mother, Deannea Allen, made a heartfelt statement in court, expressing her disbelief and sorrow at the actions that led to the loss of her son. She remarked on the far-reaching consequences of Trone’s decision, stating, “That one action had a ripple effect, and it has ruined many lives.”
