Philadelphia residents, rejoice! A brand new program for collecting bulk garbage items is now available, making it easier than ever to get rid of large objects cluttering your living space. No longer will you have to wonder how to get rid of that old air conditioning unit or refrigerator sitting in your garage.

Now, all it takes is a quick appointment either online or over the phone. Eligible items for pickup include a wide range of large objects such as household furniture, flat-screen televisions, passenger car tires, and more. This service is available for single-family homes and multi-family dwellings with up to six units.

Residents can schedule their pickup and add up to four items for removal. Appointments are on a first-come, first-serve basis, so don’t delay in making yours. Upon booking, participants will receive a 4-letter code to mark their items, which should be placed at their regular collection point the evening before the pickup date.

This initiative is part of the City’s One Philly, United City Cleaning Initiative, aimed at keeping Philadelphia clean and beautiful for all its residents. The Department of Sanitation is excited about the positive impact this program will have, providing a free service to assist residents with the disposal of inoperable bulk items.

For those who have items not eligible for pickup under this program, there are still options available. Philly residents can utilize sanitation convenience centers located throughout the city for bulk item disposal.
