Exciting news for wine enthusiasts in the Brandywine Valley – Chaddsford Winery, a renowned winemaker, has been acquired by the owners of White Horse Winery in New Jersey. This acquisition comes after Chaddsford Winery was put up for sale earlier this year by its former owners, Greg and Matt Petrillo.

Established in 1982, Chaddsford Winery is nestled on a picturesque five-acre property in Pennsbury Township, Chester County, and is one of the largest wine producers in Pennsylvania. The winery also operates a satellite bottle shop and tasting room in Bucks County, providing wine lovers with a unique tasting experience.

White Horse Winery, located in Hammonton, Atlantic County, was founded in 2013 and is known for its intimate vineyard setting with a tasting room and event spaces. The two wineries will continue to operate independently, preserving their distinct identities.

The terms of the sale have not been disclosed, but reports indicated that the former owners were seeking $4.5 million for Chaddsford Winery. Despite the change in ownership, Chaddsford Winery will remain open for business, offering guided wine flights, bottle sales, walk-ins, and table service reservations seven days a week.

Chaddsford Winery has a rich history of producing high-quality wines, with an annual production of about 24,000 cases. Its signature event, the Adult Trick-or-Treat Festival, has become a popular attraction, drawing thousands of visitors each October. Under the new ownership, the winery will continue its tradition of excellence.

With a focus on dry whites, reds, and sweet wines, Chaddsford Winery has received numerous accolades, including gold medals at the Pennsylvania Wine Competition and awards at the Keystone Cup and Pennsylvania Farm Show. The winery also offers a variety of seasonal and holiday-themed wines to cater to every palate.

White Horse Winery, renowned for its estate-grown wines, has been a recipient of the New Jersey Governor’s Cup from the Garden State Wine Growers Association. Their Albariño, a fruity white wine made with grapes from Spain, is a best-seller and showcases the winery’s commitment to quality and innovation.

As Chaddsford Winery enters this new chapter under the ownership of White Horse Winery, wine enthusiasts can look forward to continued excellence, innovation, and exceptional wine experiences from these two esteemed wineries.
