Independence Blue Cross has been recognized by the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association for their innovative Clinical Care Innovation Program, which aims to improve health care outcomes, reduce barriers to care, and lower costs. This program provides funding for grants and collaborations that focus on enhancing the delivery of health care services, implementing cutting-edge models of care, and introducing proven health care initiatives.
Over the years, the Clinical Care Innovation Program has supported projects in various areas such as maternal health, opioid use disorder treatments, palliative care for patients with dementia, and caregiver support for seriously ill patients. It has also funded experimental programs on remote patient monitoring, behavioral health, and health equity.
“We are extremely proud to receive this award and grateful for the recognition of our program’s impact on health care,” said Independence President and CEO Gregory E. Deavens. “Our collaborations with health systems and specialty groups have helped to advance value-based care programs and drive improvements in care delivery.”
The Brand Innovation Award, established in 2011 to encourage innovative health care solutions, has been awarded to Independence Blue Cross for the first time. This recognition highlights the program’s commitment to transforming health care for their members and communities.
