The decision was unanimous among Temple’s board of directors, solidifying Fry’s transition from Drexel to Temple once his successor is selected at Drexel.

Richard Englert, who has been serving as Temple’s interim president, will step down once Fry assumes his role. Notable achievements of Fry’s tenure at Drexel include overseeing the university’s merger with Salus University, strategic developments in University City, and successful fundraising campaigns.
One of Fry’s primary tasks at Temple will be addressing concerns about student safety, an issue that contributed to the resignation of the previous president, Jason Wingard. Ensuring a safe campus environment will be an early priority for Fry as he takes on his new role.
Prior to his time at Drexel, Fry held leadership positions at the University of Pennsylvania and Franklin & Marshall College. His extensive experience in academia and commitment to excellence make him a promising choice to lead Temple University into the future.
