Welcome and Happy Monday! As we countdown to the start of the 2024-25 Sixers season, let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit some remarkable past seasons by Sixers players. It’s time for a nostalgic edition of 5 Sixers Thoughts:
2017-18 Ben Simmons
Ben Simmons took the league by storm in his rookie season, showcasing his exceptional talent and versatility. While his career has taken a different turn since then, there’s no denying the impact he made during his debut year. Simmons’ playoff performance against the Miami Heat was a highlight, where he dominated the series at just 21 years old.
2019-20 Matisse Thybulle
Thybulle’s defensive prowess and surprising shooting abilities made him a standout rookie, bringing much-needed energy to a struggling Sixers team. While his shooting cooled off in subsequent seasons, his impact on the defensive end remained impressive.
2020-21 Seth Curry
Seth Curry’s arrival in Philadelphia provided a much-needed shooting boost, helping spread the floor for Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. His stellar performance in the playoffs highlighted his value to the team, showcasing his shooting prowess and clutch performances.
2019-20 Shake Milton
Shake Milton’s explosive shooting streak in 2020 was a sight to behold, as he lit up the court with remarkable accuracy from beyond the arc. His standout performance against the Clippers left fans in awe and had opposing coaches throwing everything at him to try and contain his scoring.
2018-19 James Ennis III
James Ennis III’s arrival in Philadelphia brought a much-needed boost to the wing rotation, providing solid defense and reliable three-point shooting. His contributions during the playoff run against the Raptors were essential, showcasing his value as a key role player.
